What It Is

Partners in Purpose is a stewardship-based pilot program where veterans participate in the raising and foundational training of dogs that will go on to support other veterans. This program is not therapy, not charity, and not a public enrollment offering. It is a carefully built pilot designed to restore role, rhythm, and purpose through responsibility and shared mission.

 

Why It Exists

When service ends, many veterans experience a loss of role, structure, and daily purpose. Purpose is not restored through talk alone, but through contribution, responsibility, and belonging. Dogs thrive under calm leadership and consistent structure, and they return that stability to the humans who steward them.

 

How It Works

​

Veteran Stewards participate in daily routines including feeding, calm handling, leash and place work, and environmental exposure. The pilot operates within a protected, invitation-only container with clear leadership, boundaries, and supervision. Dogs raised through this program are later matched thoughtfully with veterans in need.

We are currently developing a small, invitation-only pilot to ensure this work is done with integrity, care, and respect for both human and canine lives. Updates will be shared as the pilot completes its initial phase.
